Through a Broken Window

I found this broken window laying in a puddle in the ruins of a massive mining complex on the mountainside in Shuǐnǎndòng 水湳洞, Taiwan, on my third trip to the site. The rain put a real damper on the expedition but it also enhanced the feeling of emptiness and neglect that pervades the entire region.

More recently I reformatted the image for use in album artwork for Ben Rama’s School Of Hard Knocks, available now from Digital Diamonds or Ektoplazm. Above you can see a copy of the same image edited for use in cover design as well as the final copy. (Note that the label was responsible for the actual typesetting and design—I only contributed source material.)
