The Swamp House in Gibsons

I went walking along the harbour in Gibsons a few days ago. There is a lot to see in this sleepy little seaside hamlet on the Sunshine Coast. It’s actually hard to believe that the big city of Vancouver is just a ferry ride away.

This particularly rustic property is known in local circles as the “swamp house”. I am not sure where the name comes from, though its overgrown look may have something to do with it. And the black cat out front, resting watchfully in the grass—just perfect.
