I became an avid urban bicycle commuter in the mid-2000s. Halfway through university I started going to Bikechain, a small DIY repair shop on campus, and became much more interested in cycling. When I moved to Vancouver in late 2012 I started to take longer trips in and around the city. About a year later, in late 2013, I undertook a 1,300 km bicycle tour around Taiwan, which caused my love and appreciation for two-wheeled human-powered transportation to rise considerably. I'm still no professional, nor do I ever expect to be, but I feel like cycling is absolutely the best way to get around and experience the world on a human level.
