Synapticism

An experiential journal of synchronicity and connection

Tainan 台南 is a historic city in the deep south of Taiwan 台灣. It is here that the Dutch established a trading post, ushering in the first wave of Chinese settlement of the island. There are, predictably enough, many temples scattered through the main city, and countless old villages scattered across the countryside, which is now a bit of an industrial wasteland in parts. Apart from Tainan City 台南市 itself, which includes the old historic center of Ānpíng 安平, the area is also home to the hot springs of Guanziling, the salt flats of Qīgǔ 七股, and the badlands of Zuozhen, among other attractions.
